Frequently asked questions
No account is required. Pet Diary has no registration, sign-in or developer-operated backend. Core journal, profile, calendar, media and reminder features work without a Pet Diary server.
An internet connection or Apple service availability may be needed to turn coordinates into a readable place name. An app or service selected from the iOS share sheet may also require a connection.
Pet Diary stores its database and app-owned media in private storage on your device. Media processing and slideshow creation also happen on the device.
Pet Diary does not provide its own cloud sync or server backup. Apple may include App data in a device backup according to your iCloud and device backup settings.
Photos access lets you browse permitted library items, select photos or videos for an entry, and save generated post cards or videos. With Limited Access, Pet Diary can see only the items permitted by iOS.
You can change access under Settings → Apps → Pet Diary → Photos, or under Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos on supported iOS versions.
Camera access is used only when you choose to capture a photo or video. Microphone access is used only to record audio with video. You can change either permission under Settings → Apps → Pet Diary.
Location While Using the App is used when you request a current location check-in, or enable the optional current-location setting while adding a favorite place. Pet Diary does not request background location.
Apple's system geocoding service may process coordinates to return a readable place label. Location access is optional; other App features remain available if you decline it.
Reminders are scheduled locally. Notification previews may show an event title or time according to your iOS settings.
Open a diary post and choose Share. Pet Diary can create a post-card image or use a completed slideshow video, then pass it to the iOS share sheet. The item is sent only to the person, app or service you select.
To save the result, use the save option in the sharing screen and allow Pet Diary to add it to Photos. The saved Photos copy is independent and is not removed if the diary entry is later deleted.
Original Photos or Files items, device backups, saved copies and previously shared content must be deleted separately. Deleting a pet does not automatically delete its earlier diary entries or events, and deleting a saved place does not remove location snapshots already attached elsewhere.
The current version does not provide full-diary export, import, account sync or a Pet Diary cloud backup. Sharing exports only the selected post card or slideshow video.
Before changing or erasing a device, review your Apple device backup settings. Pet Diary cannot guarantee that the operating system will transfer or restore App data.
Yes. Open Settings → Apps → Pet Diary and enable the Camera, Microphone, Photos, Location or Notifications permission needed for the feature. The exact path may differ slightly by iOS version.
